Every rescue dog
arrives with a history.
Shelter and Rescue dogs do come with a history that has shaped the personality you are seeing today. However, dwelling on or trying to “make up for” that history is not the right approach. My goal is to build trust and confidence in your rescue, while taking into account their individual personality, so that they can learn security.
Sound familiar?
If any of these sound like your days, you're in the right place.
Barely comes out and shuts down around everything.
Was 'good with people' at the shelter, but not at home.
Fear or reactivity showed up weeks after adoption.
You can't tell normal decompression from a real problem.
Your rescue and resident dog aren't working it out.
You don't know their history and it clearly shows.

What owners say

"Alison is truly amazing at what she does. Her approach is knowledgeable and backed by years of experience. The dogs respond to her beautifully, and she teaches in a way that makes everything feel achievable and practical. If you’re looking for someone who truly understands dogs and knows how to bring out the best in them (and in their humans!), Alison is the one. Highly recommended!"

"Alison is a hero. She clearly knows what she's doing and she helped us find peace in our home again after adopting our ADHD, adrenaline-junkie of a puppy. I think most importantly, I appreciated Alison's high EQ for both humans and dogs. Her sociable nature made it really easy to speak to and learn from her. She's also incredibly accessible via phone and email and continues to be well after your appointments with her. I would recommend her to anyone!"

"Alison has been our trusted go-to expert for all things canine for several years. Most recently she worked with us to change a long standing behavior with our ten year old dog that we had been tolerating (jumping). She helped us understand the root cause of this behavior and gave us an effective plan and techniques. There has been a huge reduction in our dog's attempts to jump on us and on the occasions that he tries, we are able to confidently handle the situation. Thank you!!"
